It started slowly. So slowly that, looking back, I can't quite remember the first time.

But before long, it became undeniable.

The pounding in my head.

The flashing pain that made my eyes water.

My heart racing uncontrollably, as if I had a tiger chasing after me... even though I was only sitting down for lunch.

All of this started while I was studying for my PhD in chemistry. As a scientist, I thought there must be a scientific explanation for these intense migraines, so I went to the clinic to find one. But doctor after doctor, test after test, yielded no results. Medications failed to make a dent in the pain—or even caused worse side effects. All the scans and labs came back clean. I even wore a heart monitor for 24 hours to see if there was something we’d missed.

Nothing.

“Keep trying the medication.” “Maybe it’ll go away on its own.” “It’s just stress.”

Underneath all those trite pronouncements, what I really heard was:

“It’s all in your head.”

But I knew that couldn’t be it. I knew my body needed something more.

And so, I started to learn. And to heal.

It started slowly. Just like the problem, the healing didn’t come overnight. It came one baby step at a time—until one day, I looked up and realized I couldn’t even remember the last time I had pain.

The cure wasn’t any single thing. It was looking at my life as a whole and realizing that everything is connected, and so every small step mattered.

  • Adjusting my sleep schedule.

  • Learning deep breathing techniques.

  • Identifying which foods healed my body—and which ones harmed it.

It all added up.

Until today.

Now, I’m living the healthiest, most empowered life I’ve ever lived. I no longer feel helpless in my health journey. Whether I was juggling three jobs or caring for two little ones, I’ve learned how to not just survive—but to live a life full of purpose and joy. Pain-free.

Healing isn’t a straight line, and it’s never one-size-fits-all. But what I’ve learned is that lasting wellness is possible—and it’s built one step at a time. It’s not about perfection; it’s about paying attention, listening to your body, and making small choices that lead to big change.

That’s why I’m sharing my story. Because if you’re in the middle of your own struggle—wondering if things will ever change—I want you to know: they can. You can feel better. You can feel strong, hopeful, and at home in your body again.

This blog is a space for that journey. We’ll be sharing practical tips on topics like nutrition, sleep, and gut health—plus honest, encouraging insights on mindset, stress, and mental wellness. It’s for anyone who wants to live a healthier, more empowered life—and just needs some guidance along the way.

At MediChem, we’re here to use our knowledge and experience to help you take your first steps. You don’t have to go on this journey alone.
